Inhalants
– Inhalants are classified as a broad range
of drugs that vapors are inhaled through the nose
or mouth when sprayed onto a cloth or towel. Inhalants
such as Nitrous Oxide and Freon are extremely
dangerous, and should not be used at all.
Inhalant Abuse - Those persons
who abuse inhalants are very prone to becoming
addicted to them due to the immediate rush and
euphoric sensation the inhalants give off. Inhalants
are short lasting, and users report mild to moderate
headaches after using them.
Inhalant Addiction – Inhalant
Addiction is defined when a person can’t
stop using inhalants despite negative consequences.
Often times those persons who abuse inhalants,
become addicted to them within a short period
of time. Inhalant addiction is on the rise in
the teen population due to the availability of
many inhalants that are sold over the counter.
Inhalant Detox – Persons
who are addicted to inhalant or who abuse the
drug many times need to go to an inhalant Detox
where they can be medically monitored and given
vitamins and nutrients to nurse their bodies back
to health. Inhalants due not have a physical addiction
to the body but do have a very strong psychological
addiction to the mind.
Inhalant treatment – Inhalant
Treatment centers help persons learn new tools
such as coping skills and life skills, needed
to remain abstinent from them. While in an inhalant
treatment center persons attend primary group,
and individual counseling, as well as 12 step
recovery meetings. Those persons who complete
an inhalant treatment center have a much better
chance at long term abstinence from the drug than
those who do not.
Inhalant Rehab – inhalant
Rehab centers focus specifically on those
persons who are addicted to inhalants or who abuse
the drug. Many times a person’s needs to
overcome challenges and issues to their inhalant
addiction. By utilizing such tools as individual
therapy, and group counseling persons learn a
new way of life free from inhalant addiction.
